Belt Grinders
I decided to build a no weld grinder for my first one. I still need to adjust the spring and tension, but it works pretty well. The one thing I noticed is the roller bolts are hot to the touch. I have them loose enough to move but tight enough they donât wobble. Is the heat on these bolts normal? (Once I get it tuned I may weld it all together).
Put some high speed grease on the bearings. Should heat up to about 80 degrees pretty quickly and then plateau out there, thatâs about the temp the grease starts working.
Bearings shouldn't be hot. They should be sealed and no need, and can't grease them. Is there a spacer between the bearings? It should only be touching the inner race, same with the washer if your using one on the outside. Are the wheels spinning on the shaft? The bearing should be the only thing turning. Figure it out before you run it anymore or you will melt the wheels.
